"Some years ago Tibetan singing bowls got into my blood and while exploring their sound wave phenomena it occurred to me to see what effect they might have on my bodywork clients, writes Iobst. The most typical response . . . was that the bowls brought their focus so much into the present moment that it was difficult or impossible to be distracted by intruding thoughts or worries. This recording features 25 singing bowls from Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan, reproduced as accurately as possible." Benjamin Iobst

Benjamin Iobst, sound pioneer and therapist, researched the soundwave phenomena of Tibetan singing bowls in over 2,000 bodywork sessions. He was inspired by their ability to allow virtually every client to feel deeply relaxed and peaceful before the bodywork started, setting the stage for a much deeper therapeutic experience. He spent years finding the 25 most compatible rare Himalayan bowls heard on Seven Metals and recorded them accurately without the use of special effects.

"Since 1970 I have worked in the health care profession (initially in nursing and since 1983 as a bodywork therapist.) Some years ago Tibetan singing bowls got into my blood and while exploring their sound wave phenomena it occurred to me to see what effect they might have on my bodywork clients. I began my research by playing one or more bowls for a few minutes at the start of each session (with the client already on the massage table and given no special instructions or suggestions about what to experience.) Two thousand such sessions later this recording is born...."- Benjamin Iobst
