In his fourth book for children, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer focuses on the topic of excuses and how they can do more harm than we realize. The book demonstrates how excuses go far beyond “my dog ate my homework,” and can actually become words that prevent your child from reaching his or her potential.

The book follows a boy with a seemingly impossible dream who almost lets excuses (“I’m not smart enough” . . . “It’s too hard,” and so on) get in his way.
He discovers, as will your child, that by following a few simple ideas and eliminating excuses . . . anything is possible!

Wayne W. Dyer, Ph.D., is an internationally renowned author and speaker in the field of self-development. He’s the author of 30 books, has created many audio programs and videos, and has appeared on thousands of television and radio shows. His books Manifest Your Destiny, Wisdom of the Ages, There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem, and The New York Times bestsellers 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace, The Power of Intention, Inspiration, and Change Your Thoughts—Change Your Life and now Excuses Begone have all been featured as National Public Television specials.

Wayne holds a doctorate in educational counseling from Wayne State University and was an associate professor at St. John’s University in New York.

    Wonderful book!

Posted by G. Laurent-Wyville, Chandler, AZ on 13th Mar 2012

This is a lovely book that I purchased for my 5 year old. I wasn't sure if it would appeal to her, or whether she would understand the concepts that this story communicates. I was happily surprised that she did in fact "get it". The illustrations are engaging and the lessons of the story are nicely wrapped up to appeal to a young child. The book facilitated a discussion on how one's thinking and other's negative comments can get in the way of one's dreams and goals. This story teaches a lesson that I wish we could all learn at a young age - that we have a choice in how we perceive things, that our choice may not be based on reality but fear, and what we think can affect our decisions to pursue our goals. She loves the book, and I'm thrilled.

    Wonderful Message

We received this book as a gift from a dear friend. Our children are 2 and 5 years old. The message this book delivers is truly invaluable. I am thrilled to start reading this to them at such young ages as I am hoping the meanings will become ingrained within them for life. Dr. Wayne Dyer expresses the truth that no one can control your actions and decisions but YOU. Such a great thing to teach children. Our oldest daughter is already referencing the book when she makes decisions asking things such as "am I making an excuse?" I plan to purchase this book for my nieces and other friends. I HIGHLY recommend this book!

No Excuses! How what you say can get in your way is one of the first books of its kind in the children's book world that teaches kids how to stop making excuses and follow their dreams.

    Wonderful Book

Posted by Bright Flower on 13th Mar 2012

This book is a must for all parents and anyone who spends time with children. It encourages children to go after what they want and to find solutions to obstacles rather than giving up. I was surprised to read comments I've made thinking I'd help a child to be more realistic about their plans that really were negative and not helpful to the child at all. Who knew? And a happy ending - what more could you want.
